Journalism
The Department of Journalism is home to a well-rounded program focused on the essential role journalists play in a democratic society. Home to distinguished faculty, including winners of the Pulitzer Prize and the Freedom Forum Journalism Teacher of the Year Award, the department emphasizes both the academic heart of journalism and its practice. Specializations are available in broadcast journalism, sports journalism, and public relations, with students taking courses in history, law, ethics, philosophy, and media criticism. Our alumni work at dozens of media outlets around the world, such as The New York Times, The Boston Globe, National Public Radio, The Associated Press and NBC News
