About
Most of my research focuses on the theory and experimental evaluation of environmental and natural resource management. I am primarily interested in two areas: 1) compliance behavior and enforcement of environmental and natural resource policies, and 2) the local governance of common pool natural resources in the developing world. I have been fortunate to have been a part of several research initiatives in South America. Here is an example of an initiative in Chile: Millennium Science Initiative

Teaching
I currently teach two undergraduate courses, Introduction to Environmental Economics (2021 syllabus), which I offer every Spring semester, and Introduction to Natural Resource Economics (2021 syllabus), which is offered every Fall semester. In our graduate program I co-teach Environmental and Resource Economics (2021 syllabus) and Advanced Environmental and Natural Resource Economics (2021 syllabus) with Jamie Mullins and Nathan Chan, In these courses I focus on the theory of environmental regulation. I have collected my lecturer notes in an in-progress book: Lectures on the Theory of Environmental Regulation.
