About
Our 4+1 accelerated master's programs are a convenient, cost-effective way to earn a bachelor's and a master's degree in five years. By combining two degrees into a single program, the cost for each program is reduced, allowing students to save both time and money while gaining a competitive edge in their post-graduation career.
The College of Social and Behavioral Sciences offers five 4+1 accelerated master's programs, simplifying the path to graduate education for our students. Undergraduates begin their graduate coursework as seniors, reducing the amount of time required to earn a master's degree. No GRE or application fee is required, creating a seamless transition to graduate school.
Undergraduates who are interested in applying to a 4+1 program should meet with their academic advisor to ensure that all requirements are met for acceptance into their preferred program.
Data Analytics & Computational Social Science
The 4+1 MS in Data Analytics and Computational Social Science (DACSS) gives students the training for career roles that require cutting-edge data analysis skills and a deep knowledge of social sciences. Our alumni have gone on to roles in public policy, market research, public relations, and more.
Political Science
The 4+1 MA in Political Science is a flexible and individualized plan with two paths—one for students ending their studies with a master's degree and another for those who plan to pursue a PhD.

Public Affairs
The School of Public Policy offers a 4+1 Accelerated Master of Public Affairs (MPA) that gives students the opportunity to gain the knowledge, skills, and practical experience needed to become leaders in the non-profit, public, or private sectors while creating meaningful social change.
Regional Planning
The 4+1 Accelerated Master's of Regional Planning builds on the bachelor of science degree in Sustainable Community Development. The program focuses on urban landscape design, management and planning, sustainable development, environmental policy planning and implementation, and more.
Resource Economics
The 4+1 Accelerated MS in Resource Economics prepares students for careers in marketing, resource-based industries such as electric utilities and petroleum, government environmental policy positions, and economic consulting.
