The School of Public Health and Health Sciences is pleased to announce the inaugural Healthcare Culinary Conference, held in conjunction with the 30th annual Chef Culinary Conference, hosted by UMass Dining.

Join us for this 2-day workshop specifically designed for healthcare professionals where you will gain experience in:

  • Developing culinary skills that support dietary guidelines, reflect cultural preferences, and meet economic constraints.
  • Understanding the social determinants of health and the impact of food insecurity on individual health.
  • Recognizing and appreciating the significance of food in preserving cultural identity.
  • Identifying the importance of collaboration between healthcare systems and community food systems to address nutrition-related health disparities. 

Includes hands-on cooking demonstrations designed specifically for healthcare providers with leading chefs Ana Jaramillo, Breana Killeen, and Michael Nischan, plus a local farm tour, lectures and panel discussions with leading scientists, networking and more!

Cost: $500 for healthcare professionals. $250 for students/community health workers.
