Family Programs Events

Parent and Family Ready for the U is designed for new students and the adults who support their college transition. New students are able to invite guests after they complete their own registration for Ready for the U. Siblings, cousins, and other younger family members interested in learning about UMass or what the college experience is like are better served by attending Family Weekend than by registering for Ready for the U.

During Fall and Spring move-in day, we offer Fall and Spring Welcome events as well. We look forward to welcoming your family to UMass Amherst!

Offered every fall, Family Weekend is an opportunity for families to visit with their students, continue to develop their own university affinity, and discover how their students are learning to navigate campus life, cultivate academic preparedness, and live & act responsibly. We plan a variety of fun events for the whole family! 2025 Family Weekend will be October 17-19.
