Just for U: Parents and Families
UMass Amherst is a large and diverse community made up of students with a variety of backgrounds and experiences. Whether your student is a freshman or a senior, from in state or across the globe, the Office of Parent Services wants to partner with you in supporting your student's pursuit of a successful undergraduate career at UMass Amherst.
Parent Class Year Notes
Whether students are in their first or their last year at UMass, we want to make sure they are on track to a successful future beyond the university. We have provided a helpful guideline for each class year to assist parents and families in partnering with their student throughout their college experience.
Family Groups
Our campus is made up of all kinds of students and we acknowledge the diverse experience they bring to the university. We have provided useful information for families in these communities to share with their student. These groups include First Generation, International, Off Campus, Out of State, Transfer, and Veterans.
UMass Amherst Family to Family Facebook Group
Join the UMass Amherst Family to Family Facebook group — a closed online group designed by parent advisory council members for undergraduate families. You can join the group to connect with other UMass families, ask questions, organize meetups, lead discussion topics, and much more. Advisory council members administer the group and are available to answer questions and share their experiences and perspectives with other UMass Amherst families.
