HFA Proposal Assistance (External Funding)
All HFA faculty members planning to apply for external funding are required to complete the College of Humanities and Fine Arts Proposal Assistance Request Form. The form is part of the campus' grant tracking/management system, Kuali and should be submitted prior to the funding deadline. Queries about the form may be sent to HFA's grants and contracts coordinator at ISSR, Francis Lo, francis [at] umass [dot] edu (francis[at]umass[dot]edu).  Also see ISSR External Grant Proposal Preparation: Timeline for Success

For assistance with college-level awards, please contact Pari Riahi, Associate Dean for Research & Engagement, priahi [at] umass [dot] edu (priahi[at]umass[dot]edu), and Amy Fleig, Director of Faculty Development and Programs, afleig [at] umass [dot] edu (afleig[at]umass[dot]edu)

Other contacts within the Dean's Office are listed on the Campus-level funding, awards, and fellowships page.

Office of Faculty Development

OFD’s Research and Engagement program connects you with key campus supports, information, and on-demand resources to take your research, engagement, and creative activities to the next level. We host an Academic Freedom Crisis Toolkit and list award opportunities that recognize the work you do. OFD also sponsors workshops and conversations on research.

Office of Research & Engagement

The University’s Office of Research and Engagement supports campus research and creative efforts with several grant and award programs.

Foundation Relations

Foundation Relations helps with everything from program ideation to proposal writing, editing, and submission for private grant opportunities. This link will take you to a full list of the services they provide. If you have a project that does not fit within the parameters of the highlighted RFPs, we would love to work with you to identify funders whose grantmaking portfolios are better matched to your needs.
