The board of the Renaissance Society of America (RSA) has approved the appointment of Marjorie Rubright as the organization’s next vice president, effective July 1, 2026. Rubright is associate professor of English at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and director of the Kinney Center for Interdisciplinary Renaissance Studies. This semester, she is also serving as visiting associate professor of humanities at Yale University.

Rubright currently chairs the RSA Committee for Associate Organizations and International Cooperation. She will step down from that role as she assumes the vice presidency. Following RSA’s leadership tradition, Rubright will serve for two years as vice president, then two years as president, and two years as immediate past president.
