June 14, 2025 Academics

The Juniper Summer Writing Institute hosts its public reading series June 15–20, 2025, at UMass Amherst’s Old Chapel, beginning nightly at 7:30 p.m. and followed by Q&As with the featured authors.

Presented by the Institute alongside the UMass MFA for Poets & Writers, this program brings together writers of all levels to work with acclaimed poets and authors. The public readings showcase a diverse lineup—including Tiana Clark, T. Kira Māhealani Madden, Jessica Anthony, Sam Sax, Annie Liontas, Maggie Millner, and more—who will share their recent work in poetry, fiction, and nonfiction and discuss their creative processes.

These evening events are free and open to all. Amherst Books will offer titles for purchase, and authors will be available to sign books afterward.

Supported in part by the UMass Department of English, College of Humanities & Fine Arts, the Massachusetts Cultural Council, Amherst Books, and additional institutional and individual donors, the series exemplifies community engagement through the literary arts.
