The deadline to submit nominations for the spring 2024 UMass Amherst Rising Researcher student award program is Wednesday, February 28 at noon.

The Rising Researcher award is designed to raise the profile of the most promising undergraduate students and to publicly acknowledge their excellent work. The program is co-supported by University Relations, Research & Engagement and the Commonwealth Honors College.

Eligible students will be exceptional undergraduates who have demonstrated leadership and impact in their chosen area of study in research, scholarship, or creative activity. Faculty are encouraged to nominate their eligible students; students are also required to submit supporting documentation. More information and nomination forms can be found here.

Students will receive a custom-engraved award to signify this honor and are profiled across multiple media channels, including the UMass website. There will be an event to celebrate the student honorees and their faculty mentors during the spring semester.

For questions, contact Lauren Rubenstein, director of research communications.
