HFA Celebrates Week of Wellbeing

The College of Humanities and Fine Arts invites students, faculty, and staff to take part in the Week of Wellbeing, happening February 9–13 across the UMass Amherst campus. This series of events is designed to foster connection, rest, and renewal. From morning yoga and nature walks to crafts, games, and community meals, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. 

The Week of Wellbeing is a cross-campus collaboration involving the Okanagan Wellbeing Collective, the Office of Equity and Inclusion, Student Affairs and Campus Life, and others. For a full list of University-wide events, visit their website. 

All events are free and open to members of the UMass Amherst community. 

Monday, February 9 

Yoga 

Design Building Room 170, 9–10 a.m. 

Join us for a morning yoga session led by Associate Dean for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Cara Takakjian, to stretch, reset, and start the week grounded. 

First-Gen Welcome Back (Drop-in Event) 

South College Commons, 1–3 p.m. 

A warm welcome back for first-generation students with snacks, conversation, and community. All HFA undergraduate and graduate students, staff, and faculty are invited, and we especially hope you’ll join us if you are or were a first-generation college student or graduate. We’ll have plenty of swag and giveaway goodies to help you gear up. No RSVP required—just bring yourself (and a friend!).

Coffee and Snacks 

South College Commons, All day 

Pick up coffee and snacks throughout the day. 

Crafts in the Commons

South College Commons, 12–4 p.m. 

Drop in for an afternoon of crafting. Shape some clay, color, create some dorm decor. 

Wednesday, February 11 

 HFA Community Meal 

South College Commons, 5–6:30 p.m.

Thursday, February 12

Nature Walk 

Meet in South College lobby, 11:30 a.m. 

Take a lunch hour walk, guided by Director of HFA Career Development Services Lisa Blacher, to enjoy the outdoors and reset for the weekend.
