Students interested in studying healthcare are invited to a lecture and gathering with Assistant Professor of History Matthew Wormer, where they can meet peers and learn which Humanities of Health and Well Being classes are available for spring 2024.

The event, Pizza and Prof: A talk by Assistant Professor of History Matthew Wormer on "The Opium Wars to the Opioid Crisis: Drugs and Capitalism in Global History," will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 30, from 5-6:30 p.m. in Herter Hall 601.

The Humanities of Health and Well Being area of study is both a longstanding and an emerging field at UMass, being addressed across several fronts. Four certificate programs provide interdisciplinary opportunities to become well-versed in the multitude of ways humanities disciplines intersect and align with health and well-being.
