About

Dee Boyle-Clapp is the director of the Arts Extension Service where she oversees the programs’ campus and online arts management courses, certificates and degree, the National Arts Policy Archive and Library. She co-founded the Arts Entrepreneurship Initiative which serves the University and area arts through an arts-specific internship program,  and works to develop the region’s creative economy, including the ArtsHub website serving the needs of Western Massachusetts artists. Dee has long worked at the intersection of art and sustainability, tapping the power of the arts to address the climate crisis through her course Greening Your Arts Nonprofit Organization and the Culture for Climate Action pilot (C4CA) which supports State Arts Agencies and their arts and culture organizations to reduce their emissions, adopt clean energy, build resiliency, work for a Just Transition, and utilize programming with internal and external constituents to address local concerns and build a multiplier effect for change. 

Dee is a sculptor, and has more than 30 years of experience in the arts, teaching a variety of studio, art history, as well as arts management courses in AES’ arts management degree and certificate programs. She leads training programs in a variety of arts management and artist-in-business topics for state arts agencies,and conducts AES research and consulting projects. She holds bachelor's degrees in art and art history from the University of Wisconsin at Madison, an MFA in sculpture from UMass Amherst, and a Master's in Nonprofit Management from Regis University in Denver, Colorado.
