I studied abroad in Sevilla, Spain, which was the southern part of Spain, from February-May 2022 through an API Program. Sevilla became my second home during these four short months. I stayed with a host family, and I had one roommate who was from Wisconsin. I became good friends with her, and I met lots of other people from all over the country. Going abroad broadened my horizons and took me out of my comfort zone. I really got to experience the culture in Sevilla, especially by living in a host family. I practiced and improved my Spanish every day and ate cultural Spanish dishes every day that my host mom made. I got to travel to other parts of Spain, and to other countries as well. It was an experience I will never forget, and I recommend studying abroad to everyone who has the opportunity.
In the future, I am still unsure of the career I want to pursue, but I hope to travel as much as I can. I find traveling and living in other countries so valuable and an amazing opportunity to gain worldwide experience. I want to help make the world a better place. Although I do not have a set plan for the future yet, I am excited to take every opportunity that comes my way and to see what the future has in store for me.
