My Honors Thesis is about Facial Recognition Technology (FRT) in policing, how public opinion is formed around the subject, and what type of information is most impactful in changing people’s perceptions of FRT (positive information or negative information). Over the summer of 2021, I worked as a climate litigation intern for the Leave It In The Ground Coalition (LINGO), a national nonprofit focusing on climate policy and preventing the extraction of fossil fuels. I researched and summarized international climate cases and supervise a team of other interns. On campus, I work in the Vice Chancellor’s Office of Student Affairs and Campus Life, which has been a great experience. I’ve learned how a large institution like UMass works and have been able to help bring student voices to the administration. My goal is to complete my Master of Public Policy in the spring of 2023, then apply to the Fulbright program with the possibility of law school in the future. I was supposed to be abroad in Sweden in fall 2020, but plans changed due to COVID-19. I hope to fulfill my goal of traveling to Sweden through a Fulbright grant for research in a university there. I want to use my degrees to conduct public policy research in the realms of economic, social, and internet/technology policy.
