Studied abroad at Charles III University of Madrid, Spain during Fall 2024.
My study abroad experience in Spain was filled with so many incredible moments that it’s hard to describe it in so few words. My time abroad gave me the opportunity to improve my Spanish speaking abilities by immersing myself in the local culture and speaking with my apartment’s security guard every time I came home from school. I was able to learn about the local culture through my political economy and Spanish literature classes and spent my time after class exploring local parks, museums, and restaurants. One of my fondest memories was going to a Real Madrid soccer game with all my roommates - we lived right down the street from the stadium! I was also fortunate enough to travel to other countries throughout Europe, allowing me to experience a plethora of cultures. Looking back at these four months, each experience impacted me in ways I never anticipated, and I am thankful for all the memories and friends I made.
Concluding my time here at UMass, I am currently interning as a Budget Analyst for the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA). Upon graduation, I will be continuing my journey with them full-time and hope to pursue an MBA in the future.
