Emi Aleksanyan
Double Major in Linguistics and Psychology
My study abroad experience was in Sorrento, Italy with the CIS Summer on the Italian Coast Program. I took archaeology and drawing classes at the Sant’Anna Institute and participated in many activities that the school hosted, such as gelato-making classes, and field trips to ancient and environmental locations on the Amalfi Coast. Through this trip, I was able to pick up some basic Italian and basic Italian linguistics, as well as travel around and explore the Vesuvian area.
Currently, I am looking forward to completing my honors thesis research on the topic of Multilingualism and speech perception. In the future, I hope to work on more linguistics and psycholinguistics research and apply for the Fulbright Scholarship within a few years of graduation. With the experience I gained from the International Scholars Program, I hope to eventually work abroad.
