Citli Valencia Cordova
Dual Degree in Political Science and Spanish, Anthropology Minor
Studied abroad in Uruguay at ORT University during the Fall 2023 semester and in Thailand at Mahidol University International Campus during the Spring 2024 semester.
While in Montevideo, I stayed with a wonderful host family who helped immerse me in Rio Platense culture and traditions while practicing my Spanish daily. In Thailand, I took a Thai Language and Culture class and by the end of the semester, I was able to navigate through the country and speak to locals on my own. During both semesters I was able to travel around neighboring countries and form lifelong friendships while gaining confidence in my ability to adapt to any situation.
I am currently working on my Honors Thesis with Dr. Jennifer Sandler in anthropology to investigate how organizations in the Pioneer Valley organize to protect immigrant communities from specific political contemporary threats to their safety. I have also applied to be a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Mexico in 2025.
