Sophomore, Class of 2026
Hometown: Avon, CT
Major(s): Public Policy and Managerial Economics
Hi, my name is Pranav and I am a sophomore Public Policy and Managerial Economics major from Avon, CT. Although I am not an Isenberg student, I hope to pursue a career in finance, which the CHC has helped me learn a lot more about. Through their one-credit colloquiums and guest lectures, I have been able to make meaningful connections with some amazing faculty and staff in the finance realm. Aside from working as a Student Ambassador, I am also a junior analyst at the Minutemen Fixed Income Fund, a senior member of the Investment Club, and a member of Beta Chi Theta, a fraternity on campus. In my free time, I love working out at the Rec, grabbing a meal at Roots, and spending time with my friends and family.
Will being an Honors College Scholar give me an advantage in pursuing career or graduate school opportunities?
"Absolutely! Being an Honors College Scholar has definitely given me a leg-up when exploring career and graduate school options. Since my Honors classes are significantly smaller in size than their non-honors counterparts, I am able to make genuine connections with my professors, helping me grow as a learner and secure meaningful recommendations. The CHC is also a goldmine for research opportunities. Seemingly every day, I get emails directing me to new opportunities here. Additionally, I am excited by the prospect of writing an Honors thesis during my senior year. It provides me with a unique avenue to showcase my skills and produce a work sample for employers on topics that I am passionate about. Most importantly, I have found that the Honors curriculum provides students with a framework to grow intellectually. For example, 201H, a class every Honors student takes, is crafted not just to nurture students academically, but holistically. I find that the CHC environment is designed to cultivate profound thinking, which helps in all career paths, regardless of discipline."
