How did you find a sense of community and belonging at CHC and UMass? What experiences or resources helped you feel connected and supported?

Joining Mock Trial team has built key friendships paired with preparation in my academic interests. Finding groups that push me to grow have grounded my time at UMass in fun and independence. I feel like I have found core spaces where I can be in tune with my needs while meeting new people in a structured manner, in turn getting to know what direction I would like to gear my interests towards in undergrad and beyond.

What advice would you give to incoming students?

Incoming students should know that who they should get involved as much as possible! It is okay to be vulnerable and step outside of your comfort zone at UMass - in fact, it is inevitable. Signing-up for club meetings or meeting with your advisors are just some of the ways you can make the most of the opportunities built to support you.
