Sophia Robbins
Senior, Community Education and Social Change Major

Year: Senior
Major: Community Education and Social Change
Minor: Psychology
Hometown: Longmeadow, Massachusetts
My favorite summer activity: Spending time outdoors, specifically hiking and walking with friends!
Most essential item to bring to your dorm in the fall: A quality mattress topper! Dorm mattresses aren’t exactly known for their comfort, so having one can make the transition smoother by helping you feel more comfortable in your new space.
Favorite EDUC course so far: EDUC 375, Educational Research Design
Favorite thing about UMass: The sense of community. From the friendly people to the fantastic food and camaraderie at basketball and hockey games—it’s hard to pick just one thing!
Best piece of advice for incoming first years: My best piece of advice for incoming first-year students is to get involved in extracurricular activities. UMass offers something for everyone, so explore what is available and take the leap!
