Dr. Keisha Green, Associate Professor of Teacher Education & School Improvement and Chair of English Language Arts Teacher Educators (ELATE) and Conference Chair, recently hosted the 2025 ELATE Summer Conference at the College of Charleston in South Carolina.

The July conference titled "Legacies of African American Pedagogical Excellence and
Future-Making in Teacher Education" featured programming centered around the theme: "What are our legacies as English educators, and how do they connect to African American academic excellence?" Speakers discussed topics ranging from leadership to African American pedagogy, to digital equity.

Dr. Green provided the opening remarks as well as a conversation on "Culturally Responsive Educational Public Television.”
