Dr. Maria José Botelho, a professor in the Department of Teacher Education & Curriculum Studies is participating in the 2024-2025 Five College Building Academic Leaders in the Humanities Advanced Track Fellowship.

The program, sponsored by a $1.6 million Mellon Foundation grant, works to propel humanities faculty into leadership roles through workshops, leadership development opportunities, and communities. The program has an introductory track, which assists faculty who have more recently stepped into a leadership role at a smaller scale, and an advanced track, which targets faculty who have some administrative experience and a campus-wide leadership role or want to pursue a larger scale leadership role.

Dr. Botelho, who is faculty director of the Five College Doors to the World Project, the Language, Literacy, and Culture Program Coordinator, and the Reading Specialist Program Coordinator, is on the advanced track of this program.
