DiStefano leads grant at Amherst, Holyoke, and Springfield Public Schools

The Amherst, Holyoke, and Springfield Public Schools were awarded a grant from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) Alternate ELE program which will support dual language programs and multilingual learners through an apprentice and mentoring professional development program. The College of Education, under the guidance of Assistant Professor Marialuisa Di Stefano is a key partner on this grant and will collaborate to offer the Bilingual and Dual Language Education Graduate Certificate and Endorsement course of study to a cross-district cohort of 12 educators, with the collaboration of a newly created and grant-funded 2-year assistantship position to support the development of the Western MA Bilingual Education Hub.
