Doctoral Student Deadline
Dear Doctoral Students:
Doctoral deadlines to file to graduate at the May 2025 degree period follow below. Email forms to Kristin Tyler ( ktyler [at] educ [dot] umass [dot] edu (ktyler[at]educ[dot]umass[dot]edu) ) as attachments in pdf format from your UMass email address.
Up-to-date degree forms are found on our College of Education website with doctoral links at: Degree Forms and Milestones.
Your Form D-8 Announcement of Final Oral Exam and draft dissertation are due to Kristin at least 4 weeks plus 2 business days by 10am before the date of your final oral exam. Follow form completion instructions detailed on the forms and submit to Kristin Tyler as attachments in pdf format from your UMass email address.
Tuesday, March 18, 2025 by 4:30pm is the deadline to email your doctoral degree eligibility form to Kristin Tyler as an attachment in pdf format from your UMass email address.
- Your dissertation title on your degree eligibility form is your dissertation title that will be announced on the Commencement program.
- After you email your degree eligibility form to Kristin, revised degree eligibility forms cannot be resubmitted to Kristin in order to change your dissertation title that will be announced on the Commencement program.
- As you continue to make edits to your dissertation after you submit your degree eligibility form, your dissertation title might be edited as well, but again, your dissertation title change will not be reflected on the Commencement program once you submit your degree eligibility form to Kristin.
Thursday, April 24, 2025 is the last day to defend for the May 2025 degree period in order to have time to make necessary edits.
Thursday, May 1, 2025 by 4:30pm is the deadline to email your signature page and Form D9 Results of Final Oral Exam (both documents signed by your dissertation committee) to Kristin Tyler as attachments in pdf format from your UMass email address.
Thursday, May 15, 2025 by 4:30pm is the Graduate School deadline to electronically submit your Survey of Earned Doctorates and to electronically submit your final dissertation to ScholarWorks.
