AI in Education: Friend or Foe?

The Center for Education Policy’s third annual Civic Summit will be held in the Carney Family Auditorium on April 30 at 5:00 p.m. All UMass students are invited to attend.

This year’s summit will focus on the intersection of A.I. and education. A.I. is already shaping what’s happening inside classrooms. Some of these changes threaten the very foundation of schooling; other changes could open new opportunities for teaching and learning. How, then, can we steer K-12 education toward promise and away from peril?

The event will feature a panel of experts, as well as working educators. Attendees will also have opportunities to share their views and contribute to research examining the perceived risks and benefits of A.I. in the classroom.

The event will run for approximately 90 minutes and refreshments will be served.

Because this is a research event, attendees are asked to complete a preliminary survey with their registration.
