Many colleges and schools at UMass Amherst offer programs that prepare you to be a licensed educator in their subjects. The College of Education works with you along the way to ensure that you are prepared for the licensing process.

If you want to be a teacher or specialist in a specific area, there are programs across campus that will help give you the subject matter knowledge you need to be exceptional in your field. Faculty from almost every school and college at the University of Massachusetts Amherst contribute directly to developing the knowledge base for students in our wide array of professional preparation programs. While many educator preparation programs are based in the College of Education, these programs are hosted in departments across campus, which gives you unprecedented access to experts in these fields.
