180 Days Residency MEd Admissions

Admissions

Applications to 180 Days in Springfield can be submitted to the Graduate School. 

Admissions Timeline

The formal deadline for application is December 1. However, late applicants will be considered until the cohort is full. Applicants who meet the minimum requirements for admission will be invited to Interview Day. This occurs on the last Friday of February or the first in March.  Interview Day serves as an opportunity for candidates to meet school partners (teachers, principals and students), tour schools, and meet current 180 Day teacher interns. 

Prerequisites

TEACH 180 Days Residency is designed for college graduates and second career professionals of any age who:

  • have an interest in starting their career in education
  • desire to complete their training within a year in an immersive residency environment
  • receive feedback and training from multiple mentors
  • complete an MEd that integrates theory and practice on a daily basis

Required Materials 

  • Graduate School application 
  • Personal statement that includes your goals as well as your beliefs about teaching and learning
  • Two recommendations – one academic/professional and one highlighting your experience or work with children and adolescents
  • Transcripts
  • Résumé
