Dr. Sarah Wagner is a bilingual intercultural and global educator with 15 years of progressive leadership roles that bridge teaching, global education, curriculum design, and philanthropy. She has a deep-rooted commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and proven ability to design innovative collaborations based on reciprocity, integrity, and excellence. Dr. Wagner holds a doctorate in Social and Comparative Analysis in Education from the University of Pittsburgh, and her research centers on global competency development of underrepresented students and bilingualism. Select classes that she has taught include Organizational Culture, Leadership & Teams, High Performing Teams, Culture & Diversity, Intercultural Negotiation, Intercultural Competence, Intercultural Communication & Internationalization. In her past role as Director of a Global Education Scholarship Program & Grant, Dr. Wagner designed and implemented strategic plans for global education and internationalization in collaboration with an institutional donor across 14 universities. She also designed and facilitated global competency conferences as well as workshops in the University of Pittsburgh’s Faculty and Staff Development Program (FSDP). She has co-led experiential learning programs in Chile, Peru, and Mexico, and she was recently recognized with the Chancellor’s award for mentorship. Wagner conducted field research in Colombia and El Salvador and was awarded a Foreign Language Area Studies Fellowship to complete an intensive Portuguese language course in Fortaleza, Brazil.
