About

Dr. Zhaoyu (Miranda) Wang-Doyle received her Ph.D. in Curriculum & Instruction with a focus on Second Language Education from the Pennsylvania State University. Her research interests center around Vygotskian Sociocultural Theory, Second Language Writing, and Language Teacher Education. Her work primarily investigates multilingual learners’ language development and explores how to create (social) environments and activities to promote learner abilities in an additional language. Dr. Wang-Doyle has published works in journals such as Language Teaching and presented at national conferences, including the Association for Applied Linguistics (AAAL) and the American Educational Research Association (AERA). Prior to joining UMass, she taught at the University Language Program at University of California, Riverside.
