Lauren Mattone

Lauren Mattone has 27 years of experience teaching K–3 students, ending her public school career in 2025 teaching sixth grade. Her love of math education led to teaching Mathematics for Educators and Mathematics Methods for the last 13 years. She has served as a lecturer at the College of Education since 2025, serves as an adjunct instructor at Greenfield Community College, and taught at Mount Holyoke College for ten years.

Mattone graduated from Mount Holyoke College in 1985 and received her M.Ed in Early Childhood Education from UMass Amherst in 1999.

Now retired from teaching in the public school system, she is engaged in her original career of writing fiction, currently at work on an upper-middle grade novel.  When not writing or teaching, you can find her in the garden, on her bike, reading, cooking, or hanging with her pup.
