Javid Mussawy

Javid graduated with his PhD in International Education from the College of Education in 2023 and previously earned an MEd from the college.

Prior to his most recent graduate studies, Javid progressed rapidly through senior administration roles at Baghlan University-- culminating his service as Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs. While at UMass, Javid has been extensively involved in the Center for International Education's work on global higher education systems. Throughout his career, Javid has shown a deep commitment to helping institutions improve through systematic assessment efforts and supporting student success through evidence-informed practices. When he is not working, Javid enjoys spending time with his family.
