Jane Piselli

Jane Piselli is obtaining their Ph.D. in the College of Education in the Department of Student Development with a concentration in Special Education at UMass Amherst. They are licensed in Early Childhood, Elementary, and Special Education and hold a Nature-Based Early Childhood (NBEC) certificate from Antioch University New England. They have a background in NBEC teaching and have taught birth to 4-year-olds outdoors for many years in all weather. They have a background in experiential teacher training for pre-service teachers and camp counselors.  While in the field, they noticed a need for more research surrounding supporting neurodivergent students outdoors or the benefits of outdoor learning for dis/abled children.
