About
Dr. Katrina A. Calhoun (she/her) is an Assistant Professor of Higher Education. Dr. Calhoun is a passionate researcher, educator, and speaker whose research focuses on the intersections of faith, student success, and marginalized student populations. Specifically, her research examines the systemic barriers that impact Black mothers’ pursuit, retention, and completion of graduate programs, and how they utilize faith to navigate these barriers. Dr. Calhoun’s research has been published in top peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Higher Education and premier conferences such as the American Educational Research Association (AERA) and the American College Personnel Association (ACPA).

B.A. in Africana Studies from the University of Cincinnati
M.S. in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio
