Local Area Transportation

The primary mode of transportation for students living on the Charles River Campus is our Uber program, which provides travel to pre-approved locations, including the MBTA (public transportation), healthcare, retail locations, and university-approved internship sites. (Restrictions apply)

All students (both residents and commuters) are automatically enrolled at the beginning of the term.  If you have issues or questions, please contact Director of Business Operations kluoto [at] umass [dot] edu (Kris Luoto).

Amherst <-> Newton Campus Shuttle

A shuttle service is available leaving both the Amherst and Charles River campuses at 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM Monday through Friday for reserved riders during the Fall and Spring semesters. Limited service is available during the Winter and Summer sessions.
