On May 22, Tatishe Nteta, political science and director of UMass Amherst Poll, was a guest on KALW Public Media's "State of the Bay." Nteta, along with Kamilah Moore, the chair of California's Reparations Task Force, discussed public polling results on reparation and the recommendations of the task force.

As part of the discussion, Nteta pointed out that the UMass Amherst Poll team was surprised to find that money and cost were not the top reason those polled might be against reparations to the descendants of slaves in the U.S. "The issue of 'deservedness' is really a fundamental driver to public opposition to reparations," said Nteta.
