Dan Ai, graduate student in resource economics, presented at the 2024 Northeastern Agricultural and Resource Economics Association (NAREA) annual conference and received the Best Student Conference Paper Award. The working paper, Disparities in power outage experience in the United States, is coauthored with Christine L. Crago, resource economics, Jay Taneja, CICS, and Zeal Shah, engineering '23PhD.
Dan notes, "We employ a nationwide dataset of power outages at the county level and study the distribution of power outages. Our main finding identifies disparities in the reliability of power supply. Power outages are not equally distributed across communities."
