The Certificate in Social Research Analysis at UMass Amherst will help familiarize you with research methodologies often used in the social sciences.

Through courses in statistics, data collection and analysis, field research methods, and other techniques, you'll master basic skills in gathering and analyzing data. You can select a relevant elective course from another department, such as linguistic anthropology, behavioral research in communication, legal research and writing, among many others. Additionally, you are strongly encouraged to pursue a research-based internship or practicum to apply the skills you will develop during your coursework.
