With the UMass Amherst Undergraduate Certificate in Public Policy and Administration, you’ll build a foundational understanding of how big public problems are tackled and solved. Through courses in economics, statistics, and policy, plus electives from departments across the UMass campus, you will develop a specialty in an area of your choosing–sustainability, policing, climate change, social justice, healthcare, technology, education, and much more.

You'll lay the groundwork for a career in government, nonprofit, or the private sector, working closely with and mentored by faculty from the School of Public Policy, who possess a diverse range of expertise. Frequently, our alumni also go on to law school or graduate studies in public policy, education, public health, business, and a variety of other fields.

Any UMass Amherst undergraduate from any major can apply to the Certificate in Public Policy and Administration.
