The university’s official, large graduation ceremony, full of pomp and circumstance. This will be held outdoors in the stadium, rain or shine, and includes students from all across campus. Stadium gates open at 2:00pm.
SBS Senior Celebration

The College of Social and Behavioral Sciences will conduct its Senior Celebration on Saturday, May 14th, from 1:30pm to 3:30pm. Graduates and their guests should plan to arrive at the Mullins Center by 12:15pm.
Dean R. Karl Rethemeyer will officiate. The audience can expect to hear meaningful and memorable commentary from a student from each department and program. Each graduate's name will be announced by major and photographs will be taken while the graduates receive their medals. For those who attend, we ask that you please be courteous to fellow students and their guests, and remain for the entire ceremony.

The University of Massachusetts Amherst looks forward to celebrating the graduates of the Class of 2022 and welcoming their friends and families to campus. As cases of COVID-19 are increasing in Massachusetts and nationally, we know that our commencement events draw thousands from all over. To protect yourself and others, we strongly encourage all graduates and guests to wear a face covering when attending any indoor commencement events, regardless of vaccination status.
You'll be wearing the cap and gown for both the main Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony on Friday, May 13th and again at the SBS Senior Celebration on Saturday, May 14th. Graduates will pick up their cap and gown at the Commencement Fair.

Graduates who are unable to pick up their cap and gown on campus may request them here.
We encourage graduates and guests to park as close to the Mullins Center as possible. Please allow plenty of time after parking to travel to travel to the Mullins Center.
All guests and graduates will be required to walk through metal detectors when entering the venue. To expedite the process, we ask guests and graduates to remove cell phones from their pockets. Small purses and diaper bags are allowed but will be inspected at all entrances. Bags larger than a clutch are not allowed. Outside food or beverages, weapons of any kind, and tobacco products are not permitted inside the arena. Prior to the ceremony, we will be playing a slideshow for your friends and family. We encourage everyone to submit high-resolution photos (preferably horizontal/in landscape mode) for us to include. The deadline for submissions was April 29, 2022.
