Pre-Med/Pre-Health

Students at UMass Amherst do not major in pre-med, pre-dental, or other pre-health professions. Instead, The College of Natural Sciences provides specialized advising in preparation for these professional programs while students complete an undergraduate major of their choice.
Pre-health/pre-med is not a major but a series of courses required by health profession programs. When selecting a major, many students opt for one in the sciences, as the coursework will overlap with pre-health requirements.
