HFA Supplemental Research Presentation Fund (SRPF)

The SRPF program is intended to offset the cost of conference travel for HFA faculty to present research, perform, or participate in similar academic activities. Eligibility guidelines and priority considerations are explained below.

How and when to apply:

The application form for the FY26 funding cycle (7/1/25-6/30/26) will be available on 8/25/25. Faculty presenting before the form becomes available, or within one week after its release, may submit their applications after their presentation. For all other presentations, applications must be submitted prior to travel. Proof of acceptance by conference organizers is not required at the time of application.

The application form solicits the following information:

  • Conference or activity name, dates, location (City, Country or State), and sponsor
  • Presentation or performance title and date

The FY26 cycle uses one application form and has two application deadlines:

  • October 1, 2025: For travel taking place between July 1, 2025, and February 28, 2026
  • March 1, 2026: For travel taking place between March 1, 2026, and June 30, 2026

The maximum award amounts are:

$200 for virtual presentations

$500 for domestic destinations

$600 for Mexico and Canada destinations

$800 for international destinations (other than Mexico and Canada)

Award Guidelines:

  • All full-time tenure-track faculty and non-tenure track faculty on continuous, non-administrative appointments are eligible.
  • Priority consideration will be given to faculty who have no other source of available funding.  The applicant’s department business manager will be asked to provide information about available funding sources.  Faculty on administrative appointments who receive a research stipend from the College are not eligible.
  • HFA faculty are limited to one award per fiscal year, and the conference must take place within the same timeframe. FY26 dates are 7/1/25-6/30/26.
  • SRPF support is only available while funds last, and faculty are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.  Proof of acceptance from the conference organizers is not required at the time of application.
  • Awards are valid to present at the conference named in the application. Awards may not be repurposed. If the conference trip is cancelled for any reason and the recipient wishes to attend another conference, a new application must be submitted.
  • HFA faculty are strongly encouraged but not required to apply for additional funding from the MSP RSF and Flex Grant programs.
  • Faculty are typically notified of a funding decision within the three weeks following the deadline.
  • Award recipients receive the funding as a fund transfer to their retention account after travel is completed, and the expense reimbursement has been processed by their department’s business manager.
  • The department’s business manager, in collaboration with the award recipient, submits a Summit report to the HFA Business Office for reimbursement of expenses made on the faculty member’s retention account.
