The UMass Amherst Spanish and Portuguese Studies Program has partnered with the Eric Carle Museum to present the Multilingual May Storytime Series, two weeks of bilingual storytelling events at the museum running through May 13.
The midday events, produced by the students of the Community, Storytelling and Translation course offered by Assistant Professor Tal Goldfajn, include interactive bilingual storytimes in Arabic, Mandarin, Quechua, Spanish and English. Some of the stories that will be read include “The Fox and the Condor” in Quechua and English, “What Shall We Play Now?” in Arabic and English and “Goodnight Moon” in Spanish and English.
The full calendar of the Multilingual May Storytime Series events can be found on the Carle Museum’s website. For any questions, email tgoldfajn [at] umass [dot] edu (tgoldfajn[at]umass[dot]edu).
