UMass Amherst to Celebrate Berlin Wall Acquisition with Ceremony, Art Exhibits, Film Screenings, and More

UMass Amherst and partners will celebrate acquiring a piece of the Berlin Wall featuring art by Thierry Noir called The Power of Creativity Over Concrete. A full schedule will be announced soon.
Events include:
- April 22: Bach Symposium
- April 24 to 28: Student art exhibit called “The Berlin Wall: Borders and Barriers in the Past and Present” in the Bromery Fine Arts Center Lobby with reception on April 24 between 5-6:30 p.m.
- April 24-26: German and History class visits by Gerd Kroske
- April 24: Film screening of "Drawing a Line" and Q&A with film director Gerd Kroske, as part of DEFA's 30th Anniversary Celebration
- April 25: Berlin Wall Ceremony from 2-4 p.m. outside of Memorial Hall
- April 25: Campus visit by German Consul General Dr. Sonja Kreibich, including an invite-only lunch with UMass German Community
- April 26: Film screening of "The Wall" and Q&A with film director Gerd Kroske, as part of DEFA's 30th Anniversary Celebration
