Ann Marshall

Ann Marshall, AIA, LEED AP, is principal of her own architectural firm and co-founder of the exhibition design firm Design Division Inc. She is a registered architect in Massachusetts with extensive experience in both architecture and exhibition design.

With a wide variety of work in these fields of design, she brings a highly trained human-centered focus to her teaching. In addition to many residential, educational, and commercial projects– including one of the first LEED Platinum office buildings in Massachusetts – Marshall’s work includes the design of a traveling exhibit on “Machu Picchu: Mystery of the Incas” for Yale University, including a final reconfigured design and installation of that exhibit to repatriate the artifacts back to Cusco, Peru, and the design of exhibits and interior architecture for both the Catawba Nation’s 7-Feathers Museum in Rock Hill, SC and the recently completed Choctaw Cultural Center in Durant, OK. Closer to home, Ann recently completed the stabilization with additions to the Historic Northampton Shepherd Barn, to house large artifacts and diverse community cultural events. She recently engaged with the Emily Dickinson Museum by involving students in a Historic Preservation Practicum, by implementing a "forensic architectural" approach to determine the location and form of the original Dickinson barn. In addition to her work with Design Division, she is currently working on residential projects in the Valley.

Professor Marshall's work has appeared in numerous publications and exhibits.
