How did you find a sense of community and belonging at CHC and UMass? What experiences or resources helped you feel connected and supported?
Being part of a sorority and having a job at the Honors College has made me feel the most connected at UMass. I have made so many amazing friendships through these experiences. They have allowed me to meet many other people in Greek life and students of all majors! I have so many friendly faces around campus which has made me feel much more comfortable on campus, especially as a transfer student.
What advice would you give to incoming students?
My advice would be to get involved in organizations on campus as soon as possible! Of course, you will meet people through your classes and your residential area, but the best way to branch out is to join clubs/organizations. You can always join and opt out later on if you don't end up enjoying it! It is crucial to have a good support system at school, especially when making a major transition like moving into college.
