Alex is a current Data Analytics and Computational Social Science (DACSS) graduate student. He attributes the DACSS program to providing him with a blend of technical skills, research interests, and networking connections that will make him a more competitive candidate in future pursuits.

Earning his undergraduate degree in political science, Alex is a 4+1 graduate student, taking several advanced courses in his senior year. Coming from a social science background, he tested the waters by taking Introductory Research Methods, Quantitative Analysis, and he attended a graduate political science seminar. He soon developed the confidence he needed to know he could excel in the program.

Alex believes that data in the social sciences is just as important as it is in computer science and other physical sciences. He advises students considering a DACSS degree to not underestimate yourselves, to not be intimidated by the technical nature of the program, and to be comforted by his experience as an example of what can be attained.

Alex is currently employed in the Alumni Affairs and Development department at Harvard University. He intends to pursue a PhD.
