Shanthie D'Souza Joins School of Public Policy as Visiting Chair

The College of Social and Behavioral Sciences is pleased to welcome Shanthie D'Souza as the Fulbright-Nehru Visiting Chair in Public Policy during the 2024 spring semester. Souza will teach and conduct research on global climate change, geopolitics of energy, and the prospects for cooperation between India and the U.S. in addressing issues of climate change, mitigation, and crisis management.
The Founder and President of Mantraya, an independent research forum that seeks to make constructive contributions in the realm of strategy, innovations, and alternates, D'Souza has held many faculty and research positions with institutions across the globe. Her research interests include the politics of aid, development, gender and security in Afghanistan; climate change, energy and human security; women, peace, and security; countering terrorism, insurgencies, and violent extremism; geopolitical trends in Asia; non-traditional security threats and crisis response; and India's foreign, maritime, climate, and security policy.
