Eight undergraduate majors from the resource & managerial economics programs receive scholarships and awards in Stockbridge Hall

The UMass Amherst Department of Resource Economics has recognized managerial and resource economics majors with undergraduate scholarships and awards for academic excellence and service achievement.

  • Christiana Brand, Luke O'Brien, Kelly McMahan: Helen Knowlton Scholarship
  • Sam Curnyn, An Nguyen: Marjorie Merchant Scholarship
  • Nicole Ojugbana: Oreana Merriam Scholarship
  • Kehinde Adelu, Akanksha Sharma: Helen Whittier Scholarship
  • Hannah Guerin: Outstanding Leadership and Service Award
  • Patrick O'Connor: Academic Achievement Award
  • Anthony Papageorgiou, Ariel Waldman: Faculty Award for Academic Excellence

The awards were bestowed in a ceremony in Stockbridge Hall on May 4. Professor John Spraggon, resource economics Department Chair, was joined by presenters Nathalie Lavoie, Associate Professor and Undergraduate Program Director; Dorise C.G. Heller, Director of Undergraduate Advising; Colby Gray, Lecturer and Student Support Specialist; and Ruth Glickman DeLisle, Senior Academic Advisor, as well as students' families and friends, for the celebration and reception.
