Jamie Rowen, legal studies and political science at UMass Amherst, and Tami S. Rowen, University of California-San Francisco, have co-authored an article for The Conversation discussing recent court decisions regarding access to mifepristone. Mifepristone, a medicine that is used in tandem with misoprostol to achieve a medical abortion, has come under scrutiny in recent months despite evidence that the drug is safe for use. 

In their article, Rowen and Rowen express concern about potential ripple effects any Supreme Court ruling concerning mifepristone could have on reproductive healthcare and law. "It is difficult to see how the FDA's approval of other medications are not vulnerable," say the authors.
